Biomaterials
The study of biomaterials explores substances that have been engineered to be compatible with biological systems, and often are made to improve or fix a problem in those systems. Biomaterials are the intersection of chemistry, biology, and medicine. Biomaterials are present in every therapy, treatment, and drug.
The field of biomaterials is very interdisciplinary, which is why I find it so interesting and so important to understand.
Biochemistry and Molecular Biology
Biochemistry explores the chemistry behind biological processes, and the molecules involved with them. Molecular biology is similar, as it explores the molecules that carry out these processes, such as proteins and nucleic acids. Both fields go hand in hand, and both are essential to a healthy body.
I find these intersections of chemistry and biology fascinating because they capture the transition from non-living to living.

Covid Precautions
How does the coronavirus enter your body? The coronavirus enters your body through your eyes, mouth, or nose. If it just gets on your skin, it cannot get inside you and infect you unless you then touch your eyes, mouth, or nose. What other precautions can you take besides wearing a mask and social distancing?…
